200 bags of Government Supply Rice Seized by Kulgam Police

On a specific information a police party from police station Dhamhaal Hanjipora DistrictKulgam established a naka near J&K Bank Dhamhaal Hanjipora on 24-07-2019.

During the course of vehicular checking, a truck bearing registration number JK05-7633 ,on way towards D.H.pora from Srinagar was intercepted.During the process of Checking, approximately 200 bags of Government Supply Rice was found inside the above said vehicle.

On questioning the truck driver revealed his name as MohdShafi S/O Bashir Ahmed sheikh R/O Nandwan Uri, who was unable to give asatisfactory answer regarding the authenticity of the Rice.

Accordingly a case FIR no. 67/2019 U/S 420,409,120B,3/7 ECAct dated 24-07-2019 was registered in police station Dhamhaal Hanjipora andinvestigation was set into motion.

The truck and rice was seized and the driver was arrested.During questioning the driver revealed that Shahid Ahmed Bangroo S/O AbdulHameed Bangroo R/O Mirjanpora, EidgahSrinagar has procured the Govt supply Rice from various Govt stores in Srinagarand has changed the packaging of Rice to 777-Pure Ratna Rice in connivance withsome CAPD employees and was trying to supply it in District kulgam againsthafty amounts.

The accused Shahid Ahmed Bangroo has been arrested and manymore arrests are expected within couple of days.
