Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has spoken to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the alleged harassment of Kashmir mutton dealers at checkpoints in Punjab.
According to traders, Kashmir-based mutton dealers have been stopped by contractors at Madhopur and the Shambhu Border under the pretext of the Cattle Fair Act. The dealers claim that the restrictions have disrupted transportation and affected their business operations despite possessing the required documentation.
Trade representatives have appealed to the authorities for immediate intervention and have sought clarification on the implementation of the relevant regulations.

They expressed hope that the matter would be resolved following discussions between the two leaders.

Mehraj, President of the Mutton Association, said that dealers are facing significant difficulties and urged the authorities to ensure the smooth movement of legitimate livestock and meat traders
