Four youths were injured when an unexploded explosive device went off near the site of encounter in which two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants were killed on Friday, official sources said.

 

Meanwhile, Apni Party (AP) has expressed serious concern over the blast near the encounter site.

Sources said immediately after the security forces left the Sirhama in Anantnag after killing two LeT militants, people gathered at the site to clear the debris of a house which was blasted during the encounter.

 

However, when the debris were being removed there was a blast in which four youths were injured.

The injured identified as Mudasir Ahmad, Mohammad Yasin Rather, Shahid Yousuf and Irfan Ahma Bhat were rushed to District Hospital. Later Yasin and Shahid were referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment, they said.

 

It was not immediately clear how the civilians were allowed go near the site of encounter without declaring the area safe after encounter.

 

The AP district president Anantnag and former legislator Abdul Rahim Rather expressed serious concern over Sirhama blast in which four youth were injured.

 

In a statement here Friday afternoon, Rather prayed for early recovery of the injured youth and appealed to the government to provide free of cost and best possible treatment to them.

“Such types of incidents have now become very frequent. Security forces as well as the youth should observe high precautions while dealing under such circumstances”, he said.
