Srinagar Police achieved major success in solving varioustheft cases by arresting accused/thieves alongwith stolen property.In a swiftaction by Police Station Rajbagh, acting on a complaint received from SajadAhmad Jan S/o Farooq Ahmad Jan R/o Kursoo Rajbagh and Wajahat Amin Bhat S/oMohammad Amin Bhat R/o Batpora Sopore stating therein that their MotorCycle(JKOIR-7107) and Scooty(JK05E-4363) respectively were stolen by someunknown persons from Jawahar Nagar and LD Hospital.

In this connection case FIR No. 21/2019 U/S 379 RPC and66/2019 U/S 379 RPC were registered in Police Station Rajbagh and investigationset into motion.During the course of investigation, one suspect namely KiyaasAhmad War S/o Fayaz Ahmad War R/o Baki Aaker Handwara was apprehended forquestioning,who confessed his involvement in both the incidents. The Motorcycle and Scooty were handed over to its owners as per the court directions.

On 19.07.2019, a complaint was lodged by one Nazrul IslamS/o Late Abdul Ahad R/o Kangan Ganderbal to the effect that he has purchasedone BMW vehicle bearing regd No.DL1CM-6235 from Shahid Ahmad and Sahilresidents of Kolkotta and paid Rs.2.50 lacs to the owner of the vehicle.However, they cheated him and stolen the same vehicle from his possession andmanaged to escape from Rajbagh area. On this, case FIR No:75/2019 U/S 379,420RPC stands registered in Police Station Rajbagh. During the course ofinvestigation, both the accused persons were arrested and stolen vehicle recoveredfrom their possession.Besides, On a specific information, Police StationRajbagh apprehended one Mohammad Iqbal Dar S/o Abdul Salam Dar R/o BogundKulgam and recovered demonetized currency notes amounting to Rs.3.00 lacs fromhis possession. During questioning, he disclosed that he has dumped more moneyin a hideout in Jawahar Nagar area. Police Party from Rajbagh raided the houseof Ghulam Ahmad S/o Abdul Ahad at Jawahar Nagar and recovered Rs. 22 Lacsmore(demonetized currency) making in total Rs.25 Lakh. Further investigationinto the matter is going on.The cases were cracked by special team headed by*SHO Police Station Rajbagh Inspector Parvaiz Ahmad under close supervision ofSDPO Sadder Shabir Ahmad Khan.
