Suspicious object found on Qazigund highway, yatra suspended, restored after clearance

The annual Amarnath Yatra was suspended after asuspicious object was found lying on the Kashmir highway on Tuesday morning.

Sources told that the annual pilgrimage to Amarnath was suspended after IED was detected near Malpora area in Qazigund on the National Highway.

"The authorities instantly suspended the Yatra on thehighway and special forces including bomb disposal squad were rushed to thespot," an official told.Police official while confirming the development told that they have restored the traffic on the road after receiving clearance from the bomb disposal squad. "As such no dangerous material was found on Highway," he said.
