Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir President and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Sat Sharma CA, today paid heartfelt tributes to Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister, the revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee, at the Atal Smriti Sammelan held at Gharana Wetland in the Suchetgarh Assembly constituency.
MLA Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat, former minister Sham Choudhary, District Prabhari Rajinder Singh Chib, and District President Rinku Choudhary, and others were also present on the occasion.
The Sammlan was organized as part of the ongoing “Atal Smriti Varsh” programmes being observed by the BJP to commemorate the life, vision, and legacy of Atal Ji.
Addressing the party workers, and local prominent, Sat Sharma described Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a true statesman whose contribution to national politics and nation-building remains unparalleled. He said that Atal Ji’s life was a rare blend of unwavering nationalism, democratic values, intellectual brilliance, and human sensitivity, which earned him respect and acceptability across party lines.
Sat Sharma recalled Atal Ji’s visionary leadership in strengthening India’s global standing, advancing infrastructure, and ensuring political stability. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was not just a Prime Minister of a party, but a Prime Minister of the nation. His pro-nationalist stance was rooted in inclusive governance, dialogue, and democratic consensus. Even political opponents admired his integrity, intellect, and positive aura, he said.
Sat Sharma highlighted Atal Ji’s deep commitment to grassroots empowerment, stating that his policies focused on uplifting rural India, strengthening Panchayati Raj institutions, improving road connectivity, education, and basic amenities, and ensuring that development reached the last person standing in the queue. He added that Atal Ji’s emphasis on good governance continues to guide the BJP’s ideology and governance model today. He further said that the observance of Atal Smriti Varsh is aimed at taking Atal Ji’s ideals to the grassroots and inspiring the younger generation to imbibe his values of nationalism, honesty, and service.
Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat said that Atal Ji’s vision continues to inspire public representatives to work selflessly for people’s welfare and national unity.
Sham Choudhary stated that Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s leadership laid a strong foundation for India’s progress and democratic traditions.
Rajinder Singh Chib emphasized that Atal Ji’s life teaches the importance of principled politics and people-centric governance.
Rinku Choudhary said that the Sammelan was a meaningful tribute to a leader whose ideals remain the guiding force of the BJP.
