In a significant move aimed at promoting fuel conservation and responsible use of public resources, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has ordered temporary rationalisation of official and security vehicles attached to his office.

As part of the initiative, one of the security vehicles presently deployed with the Chief Justice has been temporarily relieved to reduce fuel consumption while ensuring that essential institutional functioning and security arrangements remain unaffected.

Officials said the decision reflects administrative prudence and sensitivity towards the prevailing situation, highlighting the importance of efficient resource management and energy conservation.

The step is being viewed as a symbolic as well as practical measure, with the High Court leadership setting an example by voluntarily reducing official vehicle deployment at the highest level.

According to officials, the move forms part of a broader approach focused on austerity, efficiency, and optimal utilisation of available resources in the larger public interest.
