The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, on Thursday said that External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar assured him of the safety of students from Jammu and Kashmir and other people currently in Iran.The Chief Minister said he spoke to the EAM in view of the evolving situation in Iran, which has raised concerns over the safety of thousands of J&K residents currently in Iran.

“Just spoke to EAM @DrSJaishankar ji about the evolving situation in Iran. He shared his assessment of the ground situation & the plans that the External Affairs Ministry is working on,” The CM said.
Expressing gratitude, the CM said EAM Jaishankar assured him that all the steps will be taken to safeguard the lives of J&K students and other people who are currently in Iran.
