Oil marketing companies have increased the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders, raising the rate of the 19-kg cylinder by Rs 49, effective from February 1. In Delhi, the retail price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder now stands at Rs 1,740.50.
There has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders used for household cooking. The cost of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged, oil companies said.
The price revision follows the monthly adjustment exercise undertaken by oil marketing companies, which factor in global energy trends and domestic cost considerations.
The hike is likely to affect the food and hospitality sector, where commercial LPG is widely used as a key fuel input.
Household consumers, however, have been spared any increase, with oil companies confirming that the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged as of February 1.LPG prices are reviewed at the start of every month, with revisions driven by international fuel prices, exchange rate movements and logistics costs.
