 The District Administration Jammu today formally launched Phase-II celebrations to commemorate 150 years of National Pride “Vande Mataram” being observed from January 19 to January 26, 2026.

The launch day witnessed a series of activities aimed at promoting patriotism, environmental consciousness and public participation. As part of the day’s programme, a plantation drive was carried out in the government offices, wherein district and sub-division level officers planted saplings within their office premises.

Additionally, rallies were organised at the sub-divisional level under the supervision of concerned SDMs, with active participation of prominent citizens, conveying a strong message of unity, national pride and collective responsibility.

The celebrations are being organised as a week-long campaign involving government departments, educational institutions, police, municipal bodies and the general public, with a focus on spreading awareness about the historical and national significance of Vande Mataram.

The District Administration has also planned a detailed calendar of activities for the coming days, which includes Vande Mataram singing, quiz, debate and essay writing competitions in educational institutions, police-public outreach camps, screening of short films and documentaries, cleanliness drives under Swachhta Abhiyan, a youth marathon at prominent tourist locations and a grand closing event on January 26, 2026, coinciding with Republic Day celebrations.

The District Administration Jammu has appealed to citizens to participate enthusiastically in the celebrations and contribute towards making the campaign a collective expression of national pride and unity.
