Jammu and Kashmir BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA) today asserted that it is the Bharatiya Janata Party that has given true honour to the monumental contribution of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution. He said BJP has always upheld Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of social justice, equality, and empowerment by honouring his legacy through concrete initiatives and respectful commemoration.
Sat Sharma was speaking at a programme organised to mark Mahaparinirvan Divas of Dr. Ambedkar, where he, along with Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Ramgarh & former minister, Prof. Gharu Ram, MLA Suchetgarh, BJP SC Morcha President Dharminder Kumar; BJP Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, and DDC members Karan Atri, Balbir Lal, Vidya Motan, and Jagveer Dass, paid rich floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar.
Sat Sharma said Dr. Ambedkar was a visionary who rose to the highest levels despite facing severe social and economic challenges.
“His life is an inspiration for every Indian. He broke barriers, achieved the highest education, and contributed immensely to nation-building. The BJP has always recognised his unparalleled abilities, intelligence, and service to society,” he said.
Highlighting BJP’s initiatives, Sat Sharma said it was the BJP-led government that conceptualised the idea of ‘Panchteerth’, honouring five significant places associated with Dr. Ambedkar’s life, converting them into national monuments of inspiration. These efforts reflect the party’s deep respect and commitment towards Ambedkar’s philosophy, he added.
Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, said that Dr. Ambedkar’s struggle for equality continues to guide the BJP in its policies aimed at uplifting marginalised communities. He emphasized that numerous welfare schemes launched under the Modi government, ranging from education to social security, echo Dr. Ambedkar’s dream of an inclusive society.
Prof. Gharu Ram said Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions extend far beyond the Constitution. He was a champion of human rights, economic reforms, and social transformation. His vision for modern India remains as relevant today as ever. Under BJP rule, his works and teachings have reached the grassroots level more effectively, he stated.
Dharminder Kumar, BJP SC Morcha President, said the Morcha is committed to carrying forward Dr. Ambedkar’s mission of empowerment. He noted that BJP governments at the Centre and in various states have implemented programmes that directly benefit Scheduled Castes and other deprived sections.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted jointly by the Morcha General Secretaries, Rahul Hans, Mohinder Bhagat and Seema Devi, who also extended gratitude to all the participants for paying homage to Dr. Ambedkar.
