An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in a remote village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on Wednesday, officials said.
The exchange of fire began in Kahog village of Billawar after security forces launched a search operation based on information about the presence of two to three terrorists in the area.
Inspector General of Police, Jammu, Bhim Sen Tuti, said in a post on X that the Special Operations Group (SOG) Kathua has engaged terrorists in the forest area of Kamadh Nullah in Kathua.

According to sources, around 4 pm, locals spotted a terrorist at Kamad Nullah under the jurisdiction of the Billawar police station.
The sources added that the individual could be the same terrorist who was seen earlier in the morning at Dhannu Parole.
