Former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Bengaluru on Sunday. The victim was allegedly murdered and police have detained his wife in connection with the matter.
According to preliminary information, Om Prakash's wife is an accused in the alleged murder.
Om Prakash's body was taken to the hospital for a post-mortem examination.

A 1981-batch IPS officer from the Karnataka cadre, Om Prakash served as the DGP and Inspector General of Police (IGP) from 2015 till his retirement in 2017.
Om Prakash, who was a native of Bihar's Champaran, was an MSc (geology) graduate.
