The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday announced that the provincial holiday for ‘Urs Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Sahib (RA)’ in Kashmir will now be observed on October 20 (Monday) instead of October 18 (Saturday).
According to an official order, the modification comes as a partial change to Government Order No. 2193-JK(GAD) of 2024, dated December 29, 2024. The order states that the provincial holiday in Kashmir Province on account of the Urs will now be observed on Monday, 20 October 2025.
The decision ensures that government offices, educational institutions, and other official establishments in Kashmir will remain closed on the rescheduled date to mark the annual Urs of the revered saint, Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Sahib.
The government has asked all departments and agencies to make necessary arrangements in line with the revised holiday schedule.
