Continuing its drive against tax evasion, the State Taxes Enforcement Wing (Central), Jammu, realized a penalty of Rs 2,03,936 from a vehicle carrying PET bottle scrap for violation of provisions of the GST Act.
The enforcement operation was led by Deputy Commissioner, State Taxes Enforcement (Central) Jammu, Sonu Pargal, under the strategic supervision of Namrata Dogra, Additional Commissioner State Taxes (Enforcement & Administration), and P. K. Bhat, Commissioner of State Taxes J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, Sonu Pargal said that the State Taxes Department remains firm in its commitment to curb tax evasion through data analytics and continuous monitoring. He added that the department also prioritizes supporting the business community through continuous education and transparent processes.The department reiterated its resolve to strengthen enforcement measures while ensuring facilitation of genuine trade and business activities across Jammu and Kashmir.
