Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Monday said that efforts are being made on a war footing to clear the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway blockade at Thard and Bali Nalah in Udhampur.
In a post on X, Dr Singh said the weather had cleared and the NHAI authorities were working round the clock to restore traffic movement on the highway. “Hopefully by late evening, it may be possible to start allowing the traffic movement,” he said.He added that in the absence of road connectivity beyond Udhampur, special arrangements have been made to transport essential supplies. A newly introduced special local passenger train is operating between Katra and Ramban Sangaldan, ensuring movement of essentials.
“These essentials can then be carried forward by road to districts Doda and Kishtwar as well,” the minister said, while assuring that continuous efforts are being made to restore normal traffic on the highway.
