The SDM Duroo Ghulam Rasool Wani was stopped by Army personnels near Ujroo where he entered into an argument following which he was manhandled by the Army officials and his vehicle was also damaged. The employees working under the jurisdiction of SDM Duroo who was also ARO of the general elections have threatened to go on strike if FIR is not registered against the erring officers. The employees claimed that four employees along with the SDM have been injured in the incident. The incident occurred when SDM was on his way to Qazigund. When the reports last came in, a meeting was going on between DC Anantnag and Army Officers.
Former IAS officer Shah Faesel tweeted immediately after the incident that 'a FIR should be registered against the erring personnel and AFSPA should not come in the way of IPC/CRPC and action must be taken'.
