Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and Cabinet Minister Javed Ahmed Rana on Wednesday visited flash flood- and landslide-affected areas of Rajouri district to assess the damage caused by the recent heavy rains and review the ongoing relief measures.The two leaders inspected the affected areas, interacted with residents and took stock of the damage to houses, infrastructure and other public assets caused by the recent weather-related incidents.

During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister assured affected families that the Jammu and Kashmir Government would provide all possible assistance and ensure that relief and rehabilitation measures were carried out without delay.

Cabinet Minister Javed Ahmed Rana also reviewed the situation on the ground and emphasised the need for swift restoration of essential services and continued support for those affected by the flash floods and landslides.The visit comes as several parts of Jammu and Kashmir continue to face the impact of heavy rainfall, with authorities engaged in damage assessment, relief operations and restoration work in affected districts.

Officials are also monitoring the weather situation closely in view of forecasts of further rainfall.
