Says Orders Issued During April Rescinded With Immediate Effect; Employees Directed To Rejoin Previous Places of Posting

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has cancelled all transfer, posting and attachment orders issued by the then Director Health Services (DHS), Jammu during the second half of April 2026, citing administrative concerns and smooth functioning of healthcare institutions.

According to Government Order No. 422-JK(HME) of 2026 dated May 15, issued by the Health and Medical Education Department, a considerable number of transfers, postings and attachment orders involving doctors, non-gazetted officials, paramedical staff, Class-IV employees and other workers were issued between April 15 and April 30, 2026.

The order stated that the present Director Health Services, Jammu, vide communications dated May 11, 2026, submitted details of all such transfers and attachments to the department for examination.

After reviewing the matter, the government observed that considering the timing and volume of the orders issued during the period, it had become necessary in the interest of administration and patient care to rescind the orders with immediate effect.

The government has ordered that all transfer, posting and attachment orders mentioned in Annexure-A of the order stand cancelled ab-initio, restoring the employees to their previous places of posting.

“All such employees shall continue to perform their duties at their previous places of posting as existed prior to issuance of the aforesaid orders,” the government order reads.

The administration has also warned that any non-compliance by officers or officials will be viewed seriously and disciplinary action will be initiated against the delinquent officials. Concerned Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) have also been held responsible for ensuring implementation of the order.

Further, the Director Health Services, Jammu, has been directed to ensure strict implementation of the government order and submit a detailed compliance report to the Administrative Department within three days positively.
