The Meteorological Department on Monday issued a weather update, forecasting generally dry weather until the night of January 29, with a fresh spell of light rain and snowfall expected in Jammu and Kashmir shortly thereafter.
According to the latest forecast, the weather will remain predominantly dry till the evening of January 29, after which a fresh spell of light rain and snow is predicted at scattered places during the night of January 29 and the morning of January 30. Isolated snowfall may also occur on January 31.From February 1 to February 2, the region is likely to experience generally cloudy conditions with the possibility of light rain or snow at scattered to fairly widespread locations. The weather is expected to remain cloudy on February 3, with a chance of light snow in isolated higher reaches.
The weather department has also forecasted that from January 29 onwards, the minimum temperatures will rise by 2-4°C at many places in the region, especially in the higher altitudes.
