A crucial review meeting on the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) was held today under the chairmanship of the General Manager District Industries Centre (DIC) here to address challenges related to the sanctioning and disbursement of loans to aspiring entrepreneurs.
The meeting was attended by Lead District Manager (LDM), branch heads of various banks, and the District Coordinator for Government-Sponsored Schemes.
Directions were issued to enhance the efficiency of loan processing. Banks were instructed to streamline loan approvals, regularly monitor disbursements, and improve coordination among stakeholders.
The General Manager stressed the importance of timely disbursement, ensuring that entrepreneurs can establish their ventures without unnecessary delays.
Additionally, officials were advised to conduct outreach programs to raise awareness about PMEGP benefits among potential beneficiaries.
The meeting also emphasized clearing pending applications and ensuring that no eligible applicant is left behind due to administrative delays.
The General Manager reaffirmed that these measures are essential for boosting local entrepreneurship and creating sustainable employment opportunities in the district. The meeting concluded with a commitment to implementing these directions effectively to strengthen PMEGP’s execution in Doda.
