Today Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District Akhnoor organized a grand "Ekta Padyatra" (Unity March) in the Sohal area today. Led by the Member of Parliament for Jammu-Reasi, Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma,To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary year of the Iron Man of India, Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.The event was charged with patriotic fervor, resonating with a strong message of national unity throughout the region. The march witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students and teachers of GHSS Sohal, alongside BJP workers, prominent citizens, and members of the Ekal Abhiyan IVD Center, Sohal.
Addressing the gathering, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma paid rich tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for his pivotal role in ensuring India's unity and integrity. He remarked that Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has taken historic steps, such as the construction of the Statue of Unity, to accord Sardar Patel the honor he truly deserves. Highlighting the significance of the occasion, Mr. Sharma urged the youth to draw inspiration from Patel’s life and actively contribute to nation-building. The event specifically focused on raising public awareness regarding three major themes: the message of Atmanirbhar Bharat, the 150th year of Vande Mataram, and the celebration of Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including State General Secretary Baldev Baloria, District President Kuldeep Raj Sharma, District In-charge Vinay Gupta, Former MLA Rajeev Sharma, DDC Member Bhushan Bral, District Vice President Suresh Sharma, District General Secretary Shakti Bhagat, and State General Secretary of Kisan Morcha Dalbir Pawar. Other BJP leaders, including Mandal Presidents Neeraj Sharma and Shamsher Das, Capt. Soba Ram, and former Sarpanches Kishore Sharma, Dimple Sharma, and Dev Raj Sharma were also present. Concluding the program, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma expressed gratitude to all participants, noting that the Padyatra served as a powerful inspiration for national unity, social harmony, and patriotism.
