Senior Congress leader and former Sarpanch Balbir Singh was allegedly attacked by a group of people in the Kathar Manwal area on Wednesday evening.
According to reports, Balbir Singh sustained serious injuries to his head during the attack. The assailants also allegedly vandalised his personal vehicle.Following the incident, he was rushed to a local hospital, where he received first aid and stitches for his head injuries. He is currently stated to be out of danger.
Police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and initiated an investigation. Police have registered a case and arrested the accused persons in connection with the attack.
The motive behind the assault remains unclear. Police said further details will emerge as the investigation progresses.
