IAS officer Minga Sherpa today assumed charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Jammu. He was previously serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur district.
His appointment comes as part of the recent administrative reshuffle carried out by the Jammu and Kashmir Government, which ordered transfers and new postings of several IAS and JKAS officers.
Minga Sherpa succeeds Rakesh Minhas, who has been appointed Director of the Jammu and Kashmir State Health Agency. Meanwhile, Anant Dwivedi has been posted as the new Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur.
As Deputy Commissioner of Jammu, Sherpa will oversee district administration, monitor development projects, supervise the implementation of government schemes, handle revenue-related matters and address public grievances.
With his assumption of charge, Minga Sherpa will now lead the district administration of Jammu.
