Amid the ongoing severe cold wave conditions and a cold spell in the Kashmir valley, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today (December 22) informed about his decision to cancel his scheduled programmes in Jammu and to remain stationed in Srinagar to oversee the working of the power and other departments.
Abdullah, who was returning from Rajasthan's Jaisalmer, said he would reach Srinagar by Friday morning (December 20) to take stock of the situation in Kashmir. He said that the residents in the valley were facing difficulties with water and electricity supply given the severe cold spell which has gripped Kashmir.
