Reacting to the fiery exchange between Israel and Pakistan at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), BJP J&K UT Spokesperson Gaurav Gupta said that the incident has once again exposed Islamabad’s undeniable nexus with terrorism.Gupta said, “The world cannot erase the fact that Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden — the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks — was sheltered on Pakistani soil and ultimately killed in Abbottabad.
This is not a matter of allegation but an established truth, a permanent stain on Pakistan’s global image.”He noted that at the UNSC, Israel’s envoy categorically reminded the world that when bin Laden was eliminated by US forces in Pakistan, no one questioned the action of targeting a terrorist on foreign soil. “The real question, then and now, is — why was Pakistan providing refuge to the most wanted terrorist in the world?”Gupta said Pakistan’s envoy, instead of answering this fundamental question, chose to accuse others while conveniently ignoring his own country’s shameful record of nurturing extremism.
“This is the height of hypocrisy. Pakistan talks of peace in international forums but continues to export terror from its own soil. Their double standards have once again been exposed before the global community,” he said. The BJP spokesperson stressed that India’s consistent position stands vindicated — Pakistan has long been the epicenter of global terrorism, from Osama bin Laden to Hafiz Saeed, from Al-Qaeda to Lashkar-e-Taiba.
“Every time Pakistan points fingers at others, the world must remind it of the terror networks it has harboured and promoted,” Gupta remarked. He further recalled that in the aftermath of 9/11, the UNSC had unanimously declared that no state should fund, shelter, or give safe haven to terrorists.
“Pakistan has brazenly violated this principle again and again. It cannot escape responsibility by shifting blame or hiding behind hollow rhetoric,” he asserted.Concluding, Gupta said that under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, India has adopted a zero tolerance policy against terrorism. “Pakistan must be held accountable for being a sanctuary of terror. The world is now seeing clearly what India has been warning about for decades — that Pakistan remains the breeding ground of global terrorism.”
