Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday chaired a high-level meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
The meeting comes in the wake of the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan scheduled on May 12, Monday.
NSA Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and all three service chiefs attended the meeting.
India's top officials including the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Defence Minister have been convening high-profile meetings ever since the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, to assess the future course of action.
On May 10, India and Pakistan announced an immediate ceasefire.  India's Foreign Scretary Vikram Misri confirmed that New Delhi agreed to the truce."Pakistan's Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) called Indian DGMO at 3:35 PM earlier this afternoon. It was agreed between them that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land and in the air and sea with effect from 1700 hours Indian Standard Time. Today, instructions have been given on both sides to give effect to this understanding. The Directors General of Military Operations will talk again on the 12th of May at 1200 hours," stated Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
The DGMO in the media briefing yesterday mentioned that a cessation of cross-border firing and air intrusions by either side was put in place from 5:00 PM May 10 after his conversation with Pakistan DGMO.
However - the Pakistan Army within hours - violated the arrangements by cross border and across LoC firing. Drone intrusions were also reported.
A hotline message was sent to the Pakistan DGMO on May 11 that mentioned the violations of the understanding.
He further mentioned that ceasefire understandings take time to manifest on ground and the armed forces remain on high alert.
