 In a significant move to enhance pilgrim safety and improve crowd management, the District Administration Kishtwar has declared RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) registration as mandatory for all devotees participating in the Shri Machail Mata Ji Yatra 2026.The initiative is being implemented under the overall leadership and supervision of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar with execution led by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma.

The registration process is scheduled to commence tomorrow, April 18, 2026. The integration of RFID technology marks a strategic step toward modernizing the pilgrimage infrastructure.The RFID system shall facilitate constant monitoring of pilgrim movement along the Yatra route to ensure smooth flow and prevent congestion, precise location tracking to enable authorities to provide swift assistance in the event of medical or weather-related emergencies and creation of a digitized database to ensure the safety and accountability of every devotee within the circuit.

To ensure a hassle-free experience for pilgrims, dedicated registration counters have been established at key locations, including Gauri Shankar Temple, Sarkoot, Kishtwar, and the Gulabgarh Base Camp, Paddar.The Deputy Commissioner has urged all devotees to complete their registration formalities prior to commencing the Yatra."Under the guidance of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, we are committed to making this year’s Yatra the safest yet," said the DC."The RFID system is a vital tool for efficient management and we request all devotees to cooperate with the administration to ensure a smooth and secure spiritual journey."

The District Administration Kishtwar advised all visitors to strictly adhere to the new guidelines and remain updated with official advisories throughout the pilgrimage season.
