Jammu & Kashmir BJP President, Sat Sharma (CA), was briefed today on the latest situation in the cloudburst-affected areas of Kishtwar and Kathua districts. The update was provided by party senior leaders Rashpal Verma, Gopal Mahajan from Kathua, and Shakti Parihar from Doda, who have been actively working on ground along with party MLAs Sunil Sharma (LoP) , Shagun Parihar, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Rajeev Jasrotia and district teams of BJP.

These leaders shared detailed reports on the search, rescue, and rehabilitation operations being carried out by local administration, disaster response teams, and voluntary organizations in the aftermath of the devastating cloudbursts that struck parts of the two districts earlier this week, leaving dozens of casualties.

Rashpal Verma and Gopal Mahajan highlighted the extent of damage in certain belts of Kathua where cloudburst-triggered floods disrupted normal life. Injured persons are receiving timely medical attention and food supplies have been ensured. Our party workers are actively supporting the affected families and coordinating with local authorities for efficient rehabilitation, they informed.

Shakti Parihar reported that Chasoti village in Kishtwar district had been severely affected, with flash floods damaging homes, roads, and agricultural land. He informed that rescue teams had reached the affected areas despite challenging terrain and weather conditions. The administration, along with the NDRF, Army, and other agencies is working round the clock. Relief material is being distributed among the affected families, Parihar said.

Expressing concern over the situation in two districts, Sat Sharma CA, conveyed solidarity with the victims and lauded the efforts of administration and rescue teams. He directed party cadre to remain on ground, assist in relief operations, and ensure no affected family is left unattended.

Sat Sharma CA said that the party is deeply pained by the loss of precious human lives and property in Kishtwar and Kathua, adding that the BJP stands firmly with every affected citizen. He urged the administration to expedite compensation, provide all possible medical aid, and ensure swift rehabilitation.

The BJP President assured that the party remains committed to the well-being and recovery of every affected individual and will monitor the relief and rehabilitation process closely.

Besides party Vice President Rajiv Charak, MLA Vikram Randhawa, Secretary Arun Sharma, Balbir Ram Rattan, Rinku Choudhary, Vinay Gupta, Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra, Ajay Vaid, were prominent among those who attended this meeting.
