In a major step against drug trafficking, Srinagar Police has officially opened 53 History Sheets against habitual drug peddlers across various police stations in the district. This move, sanctioned by the District Police Headquarters, is aimed at intensifying surveillance and dismantling organized drug networks operating in the region.According to a police handout, the individuals identified in these History Sheets have a well-documented criminal history, with repeated involvement in drug-related offenses, particularly under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Their illegal trade and distribution of narcotics have had a significant impact on the youth of Srinagar.
Despite multiple arrests and legal actions, these offenders have continued their activities, posing an ongoing threat to public safety. Many of them, even while behind bars, are reportedly involved in other criminal activities, including fraud, assault, and organized drug trafficking.
This initiative is part of intensified anti-drug operations by Srinagar Police, which remains committed to eradicating the drug menace from society.
Authorities have urged the public to support these efforts by reporting any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking.
For information regarding drug dealers or peddlers in Srinagar, citizens can contact the police through the official helpline at 9596770550.
“Together, we can build a safer and healthier Srinagar,” the police statement read.
