A protest erupted in Rajouri town after the death of a teenage girl at a private medical clinic.
Movement of vehicles on main road of Kheora near Government Medical College Rajouri remained suspended for over one and half hour.
Officials said that at around 12.50 PM, body of a 15-year-old girl, Ishrat Naz, daughter of Mohammad Shafiq resident of Malhut Darhal, was shifted to the mortuary of Government Medical College’s Associated Hospital Rajouri.
According to protesters, Ishrat reportedly passed away at a private clinic being run in Kheora area near GMC Rajouri. The protesters including family members of deceased alleged that medical negligence by chemist led to her untimely death.
“Girl was taken to the private medical establishment with the complaint of tooth ache where the medical practitioner administered her some intravenous injection after which her condition deteriorated and she died,” protesters said. They accused medical negligence in the case further demanding justice.
The protest at main road of Kheora near GMC caused suspension of traffic creating chaos in entire area. Meanwhile, officers of civil and police administration managed to pacify the protest assuring action into the matter and an in-depth probe after which protest was pacified. On the other hand, administration has sealed the private clinic dealing with dentistry treatment as well as a chemist shop located near it.
“A team headed by Tehsildar Rajouri alongwith officials from Drugs Control Organisation have sealed the establishment,” said officials.
