Jammu, May 6 : At least two people lost their lives and several others sustained injuries after a bus skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Ghani area of Mendhar in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Tuesday morning.
According to officials, the bus was en route to Mehnar when the driver reportedly lost control near Khod Dhara. The vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge, resulting in the on-the-spot death of two persons.
Rescue teams, including police personnel, Indian Army units, and local residents, rushed to the site to assist the injured and retrieve the bodies.
The injured were evacuated to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident, and further proceedings are underway.
