The Charri Mubarak of the three-day annual Holy Kailash Yatra left today for Kailash Kund from the ancient Vasuki Nag Temple, Gatha, Bhaderwah.

Amidst the chanting in praise of Lord Vasuki Nag, the Yatra passed through Bhaderwah town where DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal, MLA Dalip Singh Parihar, Former Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh, SSP Sandeep Mehta, ADC Anil Kumar Thakur, ADC Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, ASP Vinod Sharma, CEO BDA, Joginder Singh, President of Sanatan Dharam Sabha, other tehsil officers and a large number of locals accorded a warm send-off to the pilgrims.

This year, only limited yatris have been allowed to participate in the Yatra as a precautionary measure in the backdrop of recent cloudburst incidents and the inclement weather condition in the region.

As per the schedule, after a night halt at Hayan (Nalthi), the Yatra will reach the holy destination on Aug 21, 2025, where devotees will take a dip in the sacred waters of Kailash Dal. After performing religious rituals, the Yatra will begin its return journey to Bhaderwah on Aug 22, 2025.

The local administration has made elaborate arrangements on the yatra route including deployment of medical teams with sufficient medicines, provision of drinking water, generator-based electricity, firewood, tents for pilgrims and fool-proof security to ensure smooth conduct of the Yatra.
