As temperatures rise, staying hydrated becomes more important than ever. But during peak summer, plain water sometimes isn’t enough to keep the body refreshed and energised throughout the day. That’s where traditional cooling drinks come in.
Often called nature’s energy drink, coconut water is packed with electrolytes such as potassium and magnesium. It helps restore hydration levels quickly and is particularly useful during hot weather when the body loses fluids through sweat.
A staple summer drink in many Indian households, buttermilk is known for its cooling properties. Made from diluted curd and often flavoured with roasted cumin, mint or coriander, it supports digestion while helping regulate body temperature.
Lemon water is one of the simplest and most refreshing summer drinks. Rich in vitamin C, it helps replenish lost minerals and provides a quick energy boost.
Made from raw mangoes, aam panna is a classic summer cooler known for its tangy flavour and cooling effect. It contains vitamins, antioxidants and electrolytes that help protect the body from heat exhaustion and sunstroke.
Jaljeera is a traditional spiced drink made with cumin, mint, tamarind and black salt. Apart from being refreshing, it aids digestion and helps stimulate appetite, which can sometimes decrease during extreme heat.
