The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested four more prime accused in the November 10 blast outside the Red Fort in Delhi, bringing the total number of arrests to six. The four accused were taken into custody in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on production orders issued by the District Sessions Judge, Patiala House Court. The explosion on Netaji Subhash Marg on November 10 left 15 people dead after a car laden with explosives was detonated in a targeted attack by a terror module operating out of Faridabad in Haryana.
About the accused
They have been identified as Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather of Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Shaheen Saeed of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay of Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the agency, they all played significant roles in the attack that killed several people and left many others injured.
Earlier, the agency had arrested two other accused, Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the car used in the blast was registered, and Jasir Bilal Wani, also known as Danish, who had provided technical support to the terrorist involved in the attack. Their questioning is ongoing as part of efforts to uncover the full conspiracy in case.
The investigation was handed over to the agency by the Union Home Ministry soon after the incident. The agency is working with various state police forces to trace and arrest every member of the group responsible for the attack.
