In a sharp attack on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, PDP leader Iltija Mufti accused him of repeatedly taking “U-turns” on key public issues, including reservation, preservation of Urdu, free electricity promises, and employment for youth.

Addressing reporters in Srinagar, Iltija Mufti criticized the Chief Minister’s recent remarks on alcohol consumption, saying his statement sent a wrong message to the public amid ongoing anti-drug campaigns in the Union Territory.

She alleged that Omar Abdullah initially remarked that the government was not stopping youth from consuming alcohol and that “whoever wants to drink can go and drink,” but later attempted to clarify his statement after public backlash.

Iltija questioned the logic behind the remarks, especially at a time when de-addiction and anti-drug awareness campaigns are being actively conducted across Jammu and Kashmir with the participation of MLAs and ministers.
