The Jammu Zone in its continuous efforts to enhance the professional competence of its personnel, organized two specialized training sessions focusing on the New Criminal Laws and Financial Investigation. The sessions were attended by 260 police personnel from the Jammu-Samba-Kathua and Udhampur-Reasi Range and aimed at strengthening their understanding of recent legal reforms, financial fraud detection, and compliance mechanisms.The sessions were conducted by Dr. Vidyut Vikash, IRS, a 2008 batch officer with over 14 years of experience in intelligence and investigation. Currently, he holds the position of Additional Commissioner, Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC).
The training placed a strong emphasis on the facets of New Criminal Laws—Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), and aimed at enhancing the understanding of these updated legal frameworks, ensuring their effective implementation in law enforcement. The training session provided key insights into the significant changes introduced in the new laws, focusing on procedural reforms, evidentiary standards, and enhanced citizen security measures. Additionally, the financial investigation module focused on tracking illicit money flows, forensic accounting, and effective utilization of financial intelligence in criminal cases.
 SO to IGP Jammu; Chief Prosecution Officer ZPHQ Jammu; Sr. PO ZPHQ Jammu and other officers, attended the sessions, ensuring that the learnings from the program would be effectively implemented across policing operations.
