In a landmark announcement, Omar Abdullah declared a cash incentive of Rs 2 crore for Team Jammu and Kashmir following their historic title win in the Ranji Trophy.

 The team clinched the prestigious domestic championship after a dominant performance against Karnataka cricket team on their home ground.Taking to X, the Chief Minister congratulated the players and support staff, calling the victory a defining moment in Jammu and Kashmir’s cricketing history. 

He lauded the squad’s determination and resilience, stating that their triumph has filled the Union Territory with immense pride and inspired a new generation of aspiring cricketers.

Highlighting the administration’s commitment to nurturing sports talent, Omar Abdullah also announced that members of the championship-winning squad would be eligible for government jobs under the newly notified policy for outstanding sportspersons.He emphasized that the government remains dedicated to strengthening sports infrastructure and rewarding excellence, noting that the achievement marks a significant milestone in J&K’s steady rise on the national cricket stage.
