Bharatiya Janata Party Jammu & Kashmir President and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Sat Sharma, CA has warmly welcomed the Union Budget 2026–27, describing it as a bold, visionary and people-centric budget that translates Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat into concrete action.

Sat Sharma said that the Budget clearly reflects the Modi Government’s unwavering focus on accelerated development, a resilient economy and building an Atmanirbhar Bharat, rather than indulging in mere announcements. The record public capital expenditure of Rupees 12.2 lakh crore, unprecedented support to MSMEs and manufacturing, and far-reaching tax reforms firmly establish the Government’s commitment to boosting investment, employment generation and entrepreneurship.

He stated that decisive measures covering infrastructure expansion, the Semiconductor Mission, biopharma, electronics manufacturing, chemical parks, and logistics will propel India towards becoming a global manufacturing and innovation hub. Simplification of the tax regime, decriminalization of minor tax offences and relief to honest taxpayers clearly reflect the Modi Government’s philosophy of trust-based governance.

Highlighting the significance of the Budget for Jammu & Kashmir, Sat Sharma said that it opens new avenues of growth, employment, and opportunity for the Union Territory. Major thrust on tourism, medical tourism, AYUSH, hospitality, and cultural heritage will directly strengthen the economy of Jammu & Kashmir and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for local youth.

He added that enhanced focus on infrastructure development, capacity augmentation of district hospitals, establishment of trauma care facilities and strengthening of mental healthcare services will significantly improve public service delivery in the region. The incentives provided to MSMEs, handicrafts, horticulture and local entrepreneurship will empower the youth of Jammu & Kashmir to become self-reliant and active contributors to India’s growth story.

Sat Sharma emphasized that the Union Budget 2026–27 sends a clear and unambiguous message that the Modi Government is not viewing Jammu & Kashmir at the margins, but firmly placing it at the heart of India’s development engine.

He further stated that the Union Budget 2026–27 is a nation-building document, which will act as a milestone in translating the resolve of a Viksit Bharat into reality.
