Directorate of SDRF and Civil Defence Kashmir has announced that sirens will be heard at multiple locations across Kashmir valley on Wednesday as part of the civil defence mock drill and urged the public not to panic and maintain calm.


The officials said that Directorate of SDRF and Civil Defence will conduct a valley-wide mock drill at 4:00 PM on May 7 to enhance emergency preparedness.

The drill aims to test emergency response systems through a coordinated exercise, they said.


“As part of the drill, sirens will be activated at various locations in Kashmir. This is a practice exercise to test our emergency response systems. We kindly request all members of the public to remain calm and not be alarmed. Your cooperation is essential in making this safety initiative a success,” officials said.
