National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah today said all people must work together to save the nature.
He also called upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir to offer special prayers seeking divine intervention for rainfall and snowfall in the region. According to a press release, the appeal came in response to the ongoing dry weather conditions that have led to a significant decline in water levels across various water bodies
Expressing deep concern, Dr Abdullah highlighted that the continuous dry spell has adversely affected both domestic water supply and agricultural irrigation needs. He emphasised the urgency of the situation, noting that the diminishing water levels could escalate into a severe crisis if not addressed promptly.
“We have the collective responsibility in contributing to environmental challenges. The pollution and encroachment upon water bodies are significant factors exacerbating the current situation. I appeal the community to reflect upon these actions and to seek forgiveness. We must all work together to save nature,” NC President said.
Meanwhile, J&K Jamait-e-Hamdani Patron Moulana Mirwaiz Riyaz Hamdani also prayed for an end to the dry spell. “It is a challenging situation and we must pray for forgiveness and an end to the dry spell,” he added.
